hospital adventure

Well I am back with yet another posting. This one is serious but interesting at the same tie. As many of you know I am diabetic. Well this past Saturday, May 31, 2008, I took a trip to the emergency room at Spectrum Butterworth hospital. I was feel light headed and was short of breath. felt like my sugar was quite high. I called 911. they arrived and check my sugar and sure enough it was (480) which is a bit to high! off to the emergencry room I go. while they did manthought you had to be pregnant to have one of those done. anyway it took eternity (13) hours for them to transfer me to a regular room. then my night nurse never got me my sleeping pill I requested. so I got no sleep. she told me she came in and thought I was a sleep because I was quiet. she then went on break and forgot about mme. by the time she remembered the pill it was to late. I then me with the doctor about 9 or there abouts on Monday morning. he he advised I would be discharged. we didn't leave the hospital untal about 1:30 monday afternoon. all is good now just have to check my sugar 4 times a day now instead of 2 and need to drink a mixture potasium 3 times a day. my next adventure will take place on Jun 3, 2008 I get four or five teeth pulled to get ready for some false teeth for my bottom.. what fun!!!! lol. y tests and decided to keep me. come to find out part of my problem was I was quite acidic. they decided to keep me. they put me in icu. I was hooked to so many wires that if I didn't know better I was a sound board for a sound system. took sever naps that day. then on Sunday got visitors from friends and family. Saturday night My pastor and best friend Donnie cam for a visit. Sunday morning met with the doctor and he told I would be transfered to a different room. before his visit though they took an utrasound of my heart. I never had one and didn't kknow they did that. heaven

got this in my email and felt I had to share it. it is awesome

I Hold Clear Title"

Some years ago radio evangelist Charles E. Fuller announced that he
would speak the following Sunday on "Heaven." It was to be broadcast on
radio. During that week he received a letter from an elderly gentleman who
was very ill.

Here is part of that letter: "Next Sunday you are to talk about
'Heaven.' I am interested in that land because I have held a clear title to
a bit of property there for over 55 years. I did not buy it. It was given
to me without money and without price. But the donor purchased it for me at
a tremendous sacrifice.

I am not holding it for speculation since the title is nontransferable.
It is not a vacant lot. For more than a half-century I have been sending
material out of which the greatest architect and builder of the universe
has been building a home for me, which will never need to be repaired
because it will suit me perfectly, individually, and will never grow old.

Termites can never undermine its foundation for it rests upon the Rock
of Ages. Fire cannot destroy it. Floods cannot wash it away. No locks or
bolts will ever be placed upon its doors, for no vicious person can ever
enter that land where my dwelling stands, now almost completed and ready
for me to enter it and abide in peace eternally without fear of being
ejected.

There is a valley of deep shadow between the place where I live in
California and that to which I shall journey in a very short time. I cannot
reach my home in the City of God without passing through the dark valley of
shadows. But I am not afraid, because the best friend that I have ever had
went through the same valley alone, a long, long, time ago and drove away
all the gloom. He has stuck by me through thick and thin since we first met
and became acquainted 55 years ago, and I hold His promise in printed form,
never to forsake nor to leave me alone. He will be with me as I walk
through the valley of shadows, and I shall not lose my way when He is with
me.

I hope to hear your sermon on "Heaven" next Sunday from my home, but I
have no assurance that I shall be able to do so. My ticket to heaven has no
date marked for the journey... No return coupon... And no permit for
baggage.  Yes, I am ready to go and may not be here while you are talking
next Sunday, but I shall meet you there some day."

for mom

here is something I received in my email and wanted to share with you.
MAMA/MOMMY/MOTHER/MOM
This is a truly BEAUTIFUL piece please
read this at a slow pace, digesting every word and in
 leisure...do not hurry....this is a treasure...
For those lucky to still be blessed with your Mom,
this is beautiful. For those of us who aren't, this is
even more beautiful. For those who are moms, you'll love this.
The young mother set her foot on the path of life. "Is this the long way?"
she asked.   And the guide said:  "Yes, and the way is hard.  And you will
be
old before you reach the end of it. But the end  will be better than the
beginning."
But the young mother was happy, and she would not
believe that  anything could be better than these years. So she
played with her children, and gathered flowers for
them along the way, and bathed them in the clear streams; and
the sun shone on them, and the young Mother cried,
"Nothing will ever be lovelier than this."
Then the night came, and the storm, and the path was
dark, and the children shook with fear and cold, and the mother
drew them close and covered them with her mantle, and the children said,
"Mother, we are not afraid, for you are near, and no harm can come."
And the morning came, and there was a hill ahead, and
the children climbed and grew weary, and the mother was weary.
But at all times she said to the children," A little  patience and we are
there."
So the children climbed, and when they reached the top
they said, "Mother, we would not have done it without you."
And the mother, when she lay down at night looked up
at the stars and said, "This is a better day than the last, for my
children have learned fortitude in the face of hardness. Yesterday I gave
them courage
Today, I 've given them strength."
And the next day came strange clouds which darkened
the earth, clouds of war and hate and evil, and the children groped
and stumbled, and the mother said: "Look up. Lift your eyes to the light.
" And the children looked and saw above the clouds
an everlasting glory, and it guided them beyond the
darkness. And that night the Mother said,
"This is the best day of all, for
I have shown my children God"
And the days went on, and the weeks and the months and
the years, and the mother grew old and she was little and bent.
But her children were tall and strong, and walked with
courage.  And when the way was rough, they lifted her,
for she was as light as a feather; and at last they came to a hill,
and beyond they could see a shining road and golden gates flung wide And
mother said, "I have reached the end of my journey. And now I know the end
is better than the beginning, for my children can
walk alone, and their children after them."
And the children said, "You will always walk with us,
Mother, even when you have gone through the gates."
And they stood  and  watched her as she went on alone, and the gates
closed after her.  And they said: "We cannot see her
but she is with us still. A Mother like ours is more than a memory.  She
  is a living presence......."
Your Mother is always with you.... She's the whisper
of the leaves as you walk down the street; she's the smell of bleach
in your freshly laundered socks; she's the cool hand
on your brow when you're not well. Your Mother lives
inside your laughter. And she's crystallized in every tear drop.
She's the place you came from, your first home; and
she's the map you follow with every step you take. She's your first love
and your first heartbreak, and nothing on earth can
  separate you.
Not time, not space... not even death!

just reach out

Well as I ws laying here on my bed relaxing this afternoon words to a song by a gourp called petra ran through my head: :just reach out and he'll reach in. no matter who you are or where you've been. just reach out and he'll reachin." that is so true. all we need to do is reach out to Jesus and he'll reach in and clen up us up and give us peace. now is this easy? no!!! it is difficult because we often times things we have messed up way to many times to have it happen again. but let me assure you that it doesn't matter he'll always reach in and help us. is going to feel good. not always. sometimes it will hurt a little. I am mindful of molding clay. in order to make it look good after it is sculptured we have to put in a fire the fire is hot but the end result is beauty. for me now searching for a job is hard and challenging and it drives me mad and I wish it was done. but I am reaching out andknowing that he is reaching in and giving me his peace and guiding me. no matter where you are now I encourage you to do the same thing and see what happens. I love all you who are reading this and praying for you.

job update

Well as many of you know I have interviewed for a job on January 25, 2008. Well they called me in for a trial work time. This was to be for four hours. The original date was supposed to have been February 22, 2008. However they called and had to reschecule. I went this past Monday February 25, 2008. It went pretty good I think. What I am doing at this job is contacting schools and inquiring about expanation. and getting the details like how many buildings how many students and all that good stuff. I then pass it along to the apporpiate person. At themoment Iam waiting to hear if I am hired or not. I sent an email to my wood be employer thanking him for the opportunity to come in for the trial. the next day got an email saying he was going to discuss the trial with the person I worked with. so hopefully I will hear something soon. so please please keep praying. I so much would like to be working again.

job update

I just wanted to drop in and give an update on the job situation. I just received a call a couple of days ago. They want me to come in for a 4 hour trial. This is to see if I like this kind of work and such. So please keep the prayers going. I am not 100% sure if it is for me but will give it my all and am sure I will do well. I will keep you all posted. Basically what I'm doing is ground work for the sales department. contacting school systems and finding out when specific schools are going to open and who the contact person is. what this company does is manufactures chairs and desks for schools. I will admit it is not my dream job but it is a job nonetheless and I am sure the Lord has his hand in it all.

prayer update and more

I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone whose been praying for me and gettinga job. This past Friday, January 25, 2007 I had an interview. It was with a company called Stelter Partners. They produce desks chiars and stuff for schools and filing systems for doctors offices. It took almost 2 hours for the interview. I had to interview with 4 different people from the company. The way that this came about was they contact my Counselor withthe Michigan Commission for the Blind and stated that they wanted to hire one of her clients. Shen then contacted me. At the moment I am waiting to hear whether or not I have gotten the job. I hope that I do. Because you all know how long I've been searching. One of the interesting events before the interview was I found some cash in my suit jacket pocket. Don't know where it came from but the only thought I had was wondering if it was a sign as to the outcome of the interview. On another note while I am talking about prayer. Ruthann had gotten sore finger. she had apparently pulled a nail off and was bleeding. We got it banded and she was then put to bed for the night. She then as sweet and as confident as ever asked for me to pray to God for her finger. Goes to show you how we impact our children when we pray for others for healing. I told her I would. In fact I w3ent right ofver and prayed for her right then and there. she thanked me and not long after was fast asleep. As to my friend Harvey he is doing about the same as I lasted reported. he is in a wheel chiar and is talking some but has along way to go. anyway hope to post a new posting in a couple days with news of the result of my interview. please continue to pray.

the three trees

I got the following in my email and thought it was worthy of posting here. enjoy.

The Three Trees

Once there were three trees on a hill in the woods. They were discussing
their hopes and dreams when the first tree said, 'Someday I hope to be a
treasure chest. I could be decorated with intricate carvings and everyone would see
the beauty.'

Then the second tree said, 'Someday I will be a mighty ship. I will take
kings and queens across the waters and sail to the corners of the world.
Everyone will feel safe in me because of the strength of my hull.'

Finally the third tree said, 'I want to grow to be the tallest and
straightest tree in the forest. People will see me on top of the hill and look up to
my branches, and think of the heavens and God and how close to them I am
reaching. I will be the greatest tree of all time and people will always remember
me.'

After a few years of praying that their dreams would come true, a group of
woodsmen came upon the trees . When one came to the first tree he said, 'This
looks like a strong tree, I think I should be able to sell the wood to a
carpenter,' and he began cutting it down. The tree was happy, because he knew
that the carpenter would make him into a treasure chest.

At the second tree the woodsman said, 'This looks like a strong tree, I
should be able to sell it to the shipyard.' The second tree was happy because he
knew he was on his way to becoming a mighty ship. When the woodsmen came upon
the third tree, the tree was frightened because he knew that if they cut him
down, his dreams would not come true.

One of the woodsmen said, 'I don't need anything special from this tree,
I'll just take this one, and he cut it down.

When the first tree arrived at the carpenters, he was made into a feed box
for animals. He was then placed in a barn and filled with hay. This was no t
at all what he had prayed for.

The second tree was cut and made into a small fishing boat. His dreams of
being a mighty ship and carrying kings had come to an end.

The third tree was cut into pieces and left alone in the dark. The years
went by, and the trees forgot about their dreams.

Then one day, a man and woman came to the barn. She gave birth and placed
the baby in the hay in the feed box that was made from the first tree. The man
wished that he could have made a crib for the baby, but this manger would
have to do. The tree could feel the importance of this event and knew that it
had held the greatest treasure of all time.

Years later, a group of men got in the fishing boat made from the second
tree. One of them was tired and went to sleep. While they were out on the water,
a great storm arose and the tree didn't think it was strong enough to keep
the men safe. The men woke the sleeping man, and He stood and said 'Peace' and
the storm stopped. At this time, the tree knew that it had carried the King
of Kings in its boat.

Finally, someone came and got the third tree. It was carried through the
streets as the people mocked the man who was carrying it. When they came to a
stop, the man was nailed to the tree and raised in the air to die at the top of
the hill. When Sunday came, the tree came to realize that it was strong
enough to stand at the top of the hill and be as close to God as was possible,
because Jesus had been crucified on it...

The moral of this story is that when things don't seem to be going your way,
always know that God has a plan for you. If you place your trust in Him, He
will give you great gifts. Each of the trees got what they wanted, just not
in the way they had imagined. We don't always know what God's plans are for
us. We just know that His ways are not our ways, but His ways are always be st.

memories

Well, I was sitting here remembering back on some holiday memories. I want to share some. I remember a couple of Christmases that I want to share first and then a new years celebration. First christmas. I remember when I was about 10 may be 11 years old. I received an interesting gift from Uncle bill. It was a wooden tractor. This tractor could be taken apart and put together. He got it for me because I had lost my sight and he wanted me to have something that I could handle and enjoy thoroughly. he sent a letter with this gift. I still have said letter today. the tractor sad to say has long since been disgarded and is no more. but the memory will last for a long time. Next I remember a couple Christmases in Omaha. there was a family that helped me a lot with grocery shopping and taking me to church. they had me over for dinner and got me a case of diet coke. it wasn't much but then again it didn't have to be. they did this both years. then in 99 I came home for christmas. now for New Years. This recent ringing in the of the New year was cool. Ruthann stayed up with us and watched the ball fall. It was her first time and she seemed to enjoy it. today she has kept saying HaPPY! NEW! YEAR!!. she seems to be excited. it is good to see her smile. as many of you know she is getting bigger and such. she is doing well in school and she always makes sure we pray before she goes to school. and I read her a Bible story every night before bed and sometimes one before she goes to school. she loves these stories and it is awesome to be able to read toher. I hope that all who are reading this have a blessed 2008 and that you smile a little and let your smiles be contagious. love you all and sending warm smiles hugs and smiles your way.

He is still not talking yet. before he was moved his daughter-in-law has been to see him regularly to hel shave him. he has opened his eye and she asked him if he could see her. he would respond by squeezing her hand. Hoever a friend from toast masters has visited him this past Saturday and told us tonight that Harvey wasn't responsive really. so please keep praying. I will see about getting a picture posted. so you can see who your praying for. but have no clue how to put it here on my posting at the moment so if anyone can help let me know.
